In this solar observation, we were able to engage with about 450 students coming from nearby slums and other such economically humble backgrounds. These students learnt many facts about our parent star-The Sun and its family i.e. The Solar System. A presentation was especially developed for this session, keeping in mind all that would be of interest to these children. They were made to observe the sun safely through the Dobsonian telescope and SKYBIKE using solar filters. They were also made to observe the Sun through solar view goggles and through the method of telescopic projection.
